In clinical settings, the neuropsychologist has to deal with different theories of cognitive inhibition, attentional and executive functions as well as an increasing number of cognitive tests available. Therefore, choosing reliable, sensitive and reasonably long tests might be difficult. The aim of this article is to examine cognitive, clinical and normative properties of various french tests available and suggest a clinical approach for choosing relevant tests based on neuropsychological criteria.
