摘要：Nous traitons la corrélation Si P, Q d’un point de vue ni proprement syntaxique ni proprement sémantique. Nous parlons ainsi de corrélation et non de subordination hypothético-conditionnelle pour deux raisons. La première est que certaines Si P, concessives, échoïques…, ne véhiculent pas (seulement) ce sens. La seconde, liée à la première, est que ces Si P ont un comportement macrosyntaxique, et donc une fonction textuelle, hors du cadre de la phrase et de la « subordination » de P à Q. C’est donc aux questions de connexité(s) et de portée(s), ou de leur empan, que nous nous consacrons, pour montrer que certaines Si P, outre leur fonction macrosyntaxique, aujourd’hui reconnue, d’ouvrir un cadre discursif en aval, ont aussi par leur fonction de rappel (ou topicale) de porter en amont. La distinction entre connecteurs et cadratifs (compléments de phrase) est effacée par ces phénomènes de double portée…

Thus we prefer to speak of correlation but not subordination, for both reasons. The first one is that some Si P concessive or echoic do not (only) convey the hypothetic/conditional meaning. The second reason, linked to the previous one, is that these Si, P have a macrosyntactic functioning and thus a textual function which overstep the scope of the sentence and its ‘subordination.’ We will analyze the questions of connection(s) and range(s), or their span, with the aim of showing that a certain number of Si P not only act at the macrosyntactic level as ‘discursive frame openers’, but as topics too, that is to say as an echo of the left context.
