摘要：L’article décrit certains éléments d’écriture visuelle utilisés par Galsworthy en lien avec l’ironie et la satire sociale. Il montre l’importance du club comme habitus, au sens de Bourdieu, à la fois réel et métaphorique. Le concept de technème proposé par Hamon sert à étudier les valeurs symboliques des fenêtres et portes du club. L’article pose l’hypothèse que le cadre pictural est un trope central donné par le narrateur comme clé de lecture de l’ensemble du roman.
其他摘要：The aim of this article is to describe Galsworthy’s use of visual writing and its relation to irony and social satire. It shows the importance of the club as habitus (Bourdieu), both real and metaphorical. In reference to Hamon’s concept of technème, it studies the importance and symbolic meanings of the club’s windows and doors. It presents the hypothesis that pictorial framing is a central trope put forward by the narrator as a key to reading the whole novel.
