摘要：Um dos tópicos mais negligenciados no que respeita ao direito e ao sistema jurídico tem sido a arquitetura dos tribunais. Daí que se torne necessário fazer uma análise destes espaços públicos particulares atendendo à forma como a arquitetura os organiza e estrutura, sendo que o seu exterior e interior, bem como os materiais utilizados, podem facilitar ou inibir as nossas atividades através do modo como representam determinadas mensagens. A partir da caracterização dos diferentes perfis arquitetónicos que distinguem os tribunais em Portugal, analisam-se as três funções que se entende serem as estruturantes dos espaços dos tribunais, de acordo com a pesquisa empírica efetuada: em primeiro lugar, a questão do reconhecimento ou identificação dos edifícios como tribunais; depois, a funcionalidade; finalmente, o tema do espaço ao serviço do acesso ao direito e à justiça.
其他摘要：One of the most overlooked topics regarding the law and the legal system has been courthouse architecture. It therefore becomes necessary to analyze these particular public spaces considering the way architecture organizes and structures them, for their exterior and interior designs, as well as the materials used, can facilitate or inhibit our activities by the ways they convey specific messages. From the characterization of the different architectural profiles that distinguish the courts in Portugal, we will analyze what we consider to be the three structuring functions of the spaces of the courts, according to empirical research: firstly, the question of recognition or identification of buildings as courts; then, the issue of functionality; and, finally, the theme of space as provider of access to law and justice.
