摘要:This paper focused on two issues of ongoing concern to cultural-historical scholars that have particular bearing on issues of diversity: 1) To what extent and under what conditions is cultural diversity in performance on cognitive tasks to be construed in terms of a developmental hierarchy? 2) How do phylogenetic ("natural") and cultural-historical contributions to development relate to each other in shaping human diversity? Next I suggest new lines of research and international cooperation that may help us reach a deeper understanding of these issues.
