摘要：This article describes the development and validation of a new method for studying trust to own self among adolescents and youth. Trust (confidence) in own self is an attitude towards self and own life as both being an author of it and considering its subjective and objective value. This concept is crucial condition of the subjectness of personality; it includes values, emotional, cognitive and behavioral components and determines the content of the whole human being. The method is designed on the basis of the semantic differential and consists of 15 items, each containing statements presented in three different ways: as a reasoning that constitute the cognitive component of confidence in own self; as descriptions of emotional experiences and as descriptions of behavior in important situations and situations of uncertainty. The results indicate good indices of construct validity, inner consistency, content and external validity and retest reliability. The possible aims of method’s application and prospects for further improvement are outlined.
