摘要:The paper addresses the issues related to the role and place of psychological edu3 cation in personality development in contemporary Russia. It focuses on the ways in which psychological knowledge is presented to the individual — the ways that correspond with the task of developing a certain identification context of personality, — and outlines the main aspects of functionality of psychological education. The author argues that psychological education has not yet become a successful part in psychologists' work due to the weak elaboration of its methodological and procedural foundations, and states that its developmental resource for the individual and society is realized in the least possible way as it is obviously not aimed at resolving the most crucial issues of our time. Thus the paper articulates the supertask of psychological education and what is required of the person providing it, and describes the main contradictions in contemporary psychological education.
