摘要:On the same cold but sunny day last January, twolibrarians began a new stage in their respective careersat the same law library. We are both tenure-trackreference librarians who teach a one-credit pass/fail legalresearch class for first-year law students, but that is where theprofessional similarities end. Heather had, after a stint inacademia more than a decade earlier, arrived in the cornfieldsof Illinois directly from a corporate library. Michelle emergedstraight from library school. Though not a Luddite, Heatherhad learned in a physical classroomand been instructed primarily by printmaterials. Michelle had both learnedand taught in virtual, physical, andhybrid environments. Moreover, despite having learned print in bothlaw school and library school,Michelle was a mere decade shy ofbeing considered a “digital native.”
