摘要：The paper reviews the current trendsand practices in organization of industrial doctoratein a number of countries in Europe, focusing on theconnection between the university and the industry.It is outlined the role of the university and the industrialcompany in organization of industrial doctorate.Among countries with experience in organizing andconducting the industrial PhD are Denmark, Sweden,Norway, Hungary, Luxembourg, Switzerland, andSpain. Industrial Doctoral students, also called ResearchEngineers receive upon graduation an EngDdegree, instead of PhD, and usually do not follow anacademic career, being placed both in industry andin academic institutions where they conduct researchrelevant to industry. It is shown that industrial doctoratecould be implemented also in Moldova
