摘要：This article deals with an in-depthcontrastive analysis of phraseological adverbials inRomanian and English, following the lexical, semanticaland pragmatic levels and describing accordinglythe most frequently uesd phraseological adverbials.We will focus on the fi rst fi ve most frequently usedRomanian phraseological adverbials, we will determinetheir English counterparts and make the threefold contrastive survey: lexical, semantic and pragmatic.Our aim is to outline the resemblences butespecially the differences between the two languages.Contexts will be provided to illustrate the pragmaticforce some phraseologisms have at the discourselevel
