摘要:Family is defined as a group of individuals who are in blood relation or joined by the bond of marriage or adoption, and the members of which interact with each other in their respective social roles [1]. As the family plays an important part in the maintenance of the optimum level of health and in minimizing the incidence and sequelae of the diseases, the concept of family-centered care (FCC) emerged as a form of clinical practice for the management of the children admitted to the hospital after the Second World War [1,2]. However, its principles were first formulated in the year 1987, and since then the approach has been applied in diverse settings, especially in child care [3].
