Davies zu Beginn seiner ‚Epicorum Graecorum fragmenta‘ (1988) einen entsprechenden Kommentar angekündigt, erschienen ist dieser bislang aber nicht. Desto erfreulicher ist es, dass ein anerkannter Spezialist wie M. L. West sich dieses Unternehmens angenommen hat, nachdem bereits 2003 eine zweisprachige Ausgabe von ihm vorgelegt wurde
