摘要:Background: There is a chronic shortage of faculty and lack of infrastructure in different medical institutions in both the government and private sectors in our country. Different task forces on medical education expressed that the current quality and standard of medical education in our country is much below the desired level and need to be trained in modern teaching-learning technique. Objectives: To assess the concomitant use of different communication methods in regular undergraduate teaching. Materials and Methods: A 2-h tutorial class was conducted among the sixth-semester MBBS students. Study handouts were prepared and distributed among the students. The tutorial class consisted of a group discussion among a small group of students and discussion with the faculty in charge of that small group, followed by a panel discussion among the group leaders from each group. Pre- and posttests were carried out and feedback taken from the students.
