摘要：Osteonecrosis of the femoral head is a chronic debilitating disease that affects primarily the young people. It may follow trauma, alcohol and steroid abuse or may occur as a complication of few systemic diseases. The diagnosis is often challenging and sometimes completely missed as the disease progression is insidious. We present here, report of a young soldier, who developed pain in left hip and groin that aggravated with walking. His pain did not improve for sixteen months with empirical analgesics and frequent times off duty. He became a diagnostic dilemma and was even suspected of malingering but eventually diagnosed to have bilateral osteonecrosis of the hip and underwent total hip replacement.
