摘要:Web prefetching fetches objects and stores them in advance, hoping that the prefetched objects are likely to be accessed in the near future.It is used to effectively mitigate the user perceived latency when accessing the web pages. In this paper we propose a prefetching scheme that uses a decision tree approach to compute the probability values of anchor texts present in the web page so that effective predictions can be made on the user accesses. We discuss elaborately about the various algorithms that are currently used in web prefetching. Predictions can be effective when user has long browsing sessions. The proposed method can effectively prefetch objects that are used to minimize user access latencies and also to maximize hit rates.
