摘要：As a model for knowledge description and formalization, ontologies are widely used to represent userprofiles in personalized web information gathering. However in the existing models user profiles are represented eitherknowledge from local repository or global knowledge base. In this paper a personalized web information gatheringmodel is proposed to retrieve the most relevant information from the web based on the user’s profiles. This modellearns ontology based personalized user profiles and discovers the user background knowledge from a knowledge baseand gives most relevant information from the web. The proposed model is evaluated and the results are compared withother existing models.The result shows that personalized web information gathering model is successful.Categories and Subject Descriptors: [Computer-Artificial Intelligence]: Ontology
