摘要:In recent years, the app lica tion of radi o frequency identificatio n (RFID) o pera ting in the ul tra -hig h frequency (UHF) ba nd (860-960 MHz) are ex pand ing exp onentially, due to the adva ntag es such as lo ng rea ding distance, hi gh da ta transfer ra te, a nd small tag size. So the design of a CP tag antenna wit h broadband cha racteristi c is presently one of the most chal leng ing t opics. This project presents a sq uare pa tch passi ve RFID tag antenna d esig ned for UHF b and . To achieve co mpact size broadb and and circular pol arization (CP) radia tion, the squa re patch is embedded wit h a cross slo t, while an L-shaped open-end micro strip line coupled to the pa tch. By selecting an ap prop riate length for the mi crostrip line and its coupling distance with the rad iating element, ea sy co ntro l on the i nput imp edance o f t he desi gned tag ant enna which l eads to ex cell ent i mped ance ma tching is achieved. The measured 10 -dB return-lo ss b andwidth of t he tag ant enna is 2 7MHz (from 901¨C 928 MHz).
