摘要:Creativity is a sine qua non for organizational survival. Organizations such as universities have a tacit agreement of the need for creativity in academic environments. However, the implementation of creativity is hindered by neither formal encouragement and policies nor actualization of its benefits and incentives. The purpose of this study is to consider the extent of the possible constructs of fostering creativity in an academic department. It is suggested that motivation, creative thinking, creativity goals and team setting, transformational leadership, and institutional support are imperative components to foster creativity in academia. Further implications and research are discussed.
