摘要：Many developing countries spend sizeable sums on the purchase of health commodities yet an estimated 60–80% of their populations; particularly in rural areas do not have constant access to even the most essential health commodities. The regular provision of adequate amounts of appropriate health commodities is crucial if health services are to be effective and credible. This study therefore sought to assess the health commodities management practices in these selected hospitals and how they helped in improving health service delivery. This study used a multi-method approach. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected to answer the research questions. Both interviews and questionnaires were used to gather these data and analysis were done using words, graphs, tables and statistics. The one on one interviews and the administration of questionnaires was of an enormous help to the researcher for effective comparison of all responses. After the study it was found that effective health commodities management makes efficient and enhances the health service delivery in these hospitals. It is therefore important that staff of these hospitals is sensitized about the benefits of this all important concept to boost the performance of our health facilities in terms of the service delivery.
