摘要:This paper examines the relationship of peer group pressure and the violent behavior of fans at sport manifestation. The importance of empirical examination of more frequent violent behavior at sport manifestations and of finding effective ways to overcome this problem is emphasized in all relatively developed countries. In that sense, the pressure of the peer group is one of the most commonly studied aspects related to the occurrence of violent behavior of fans at sport manifestations. Therefore, in this paper peer pressure is operationalized through the extent to which participants are inclined to follow the leader of a peer group during the sport manifestations, in terms of: the imposition of a particular way of cheerleading, the types of cheerleading and the type of behavior during incident. The analysis of the research data indicated statistically significant differences both at 0.05 and 0.01 level for all three aspects. Hence, it can be concluded that the peer pressure, reviewed by the role of the leader of a peer group, has a significant role in triggering and manifesting violent behavior both by individuals and by fan groups. At the end of the paper there are recommendations for possible interventions and future steps in the area of reducing the violent behavior of fans at sport manifestations.
