The municpality Pozba is situated in the western part of the Hronská pahorkatina hills. The area has not been studied from the viewpoint of avifauna. We have no information on avifauna composition of this area. During our observation between April and June 2006 and 2009 we identified 73 bird species - 51 from them were nesting birds, in 7 we suppose nesting, 5 species were identified during migration and 10 fly in from the surrounding cadastres. Most bird species were identified in forests (43) and riparian vegetation (42). From the aspect of occurrence of biotopes the cadastre is divided into eastern and southeastern part with relatively positive biotope structure (forest stands, vineyards, streams with bank stands, shrub biotopes) and into northern and northeastern part with prevailing large-block fields. In spite of the absence of water and marsh biotopes we can state that the cadastral area of Pozba deserves sharpen interest for the remains of primary oak forests.
