A research of dragonflies on 9 wetland sites was carried out in the Turiec region (Northern Slovakia) in 2007. There were 25 species reported, among them 6 are protected and 8 are redlisted in Slovakia. Species of community interest Leucorrhinia pectoralis is first time reported from Turiec region; its autochthonousity is not confirmed. Nevertheless, autochthonous populations of two other NATURA 2000 species are reported: Coenagrion ornatum and Ophiogomphus cecilia .
