A new site of Libellula fulva Müller, 1764 was discovered near Žilina. So far, it is the only known site of the species in Northern Slovakia. Its occurrence was autochthonous, proved by observation of exuviae and juveniles. Because of the illegal destruction of the site, the species probably became regionally extinct.
