In the period from April 2009 to April 2011 research on epigeic spider communities was carried out in traditionally used vineyard landscape in Svätý Jur area. Model area represent agricultural landscape with occurrence of historical structures of agricultural landscape (HSAL), that create a species rich unique islands that are result of long term mutual relationship between man and the landscape. I presume HSAL are inhabited by various animal classes, not excepting spiders. The spider individuals were captured by pitfall trap method. In total, 8740 specimens belonging to 167 spider species and 28 families were obtained during two-year research. Of the identified spiders 23 species are listed in Red List of Spiders of Slovakia in different category of threat. Spider rich fauna and occurrence of many rare and endangered species refers to high biotic value of vineyard agricultural landscape.
