During 2008 – 2009 the research of the day-flying butterfly communities in seven study sites under different management measures was realized. 54 species from 8 families were recorded by the transect counting in studied area during 2008 – 2009. There were 38 species recorded in 2008 and 46 species of butterflies were recorded in 2009. In both years of research the highest number of species was recorded in study site with mosaic structure, in 2008 the lowest number of species was recorded on study site of old abandoned field in late successional stage. In the following year of the research, the lowest number of butterfly species was recorded on the site, which is managed by overall mowing twice a year by the medium of harvesters. In study sites dominated species with the high ecological valence like Pieris rapae (Linnaeus, 1758), Pieris napi (Linnaeus, 1758) and Coenonympha pamphilus (Linnaeus, 1758). The highest diversity index of butterfly communities was reported on the site with mosaic habitats, low values of diversity index have shown study sites mown (twice a year) and site of old abandoned field in late successional stage. We have observed the negative influence on butterfly communities in study area has mainly incorrect application of mowing management (overall application and incorrect timing). The positive influence on butterfly communities has the short-time absence of management in sites and abandoned land can be as important for butterflies as extensively managed grasslands.
