In the period from 2000 to 2010 species composition, dominance and type of distribution (breeding or wintering) were studied in urban habitats of Bardejov (northeastern Slovakia). Totally we found out distribution of 55 (38 breeding and 39 wintering) species in urban habitats in Bardejov. 32 species (58,2 %) bred and 25 species (45,5 %) also wintered in chosen locality regularly. Six species (10,9 %) bred and other 14 species (25,5%) were distributed in winter irregularly. We recognised distribution of two eudominant species – Apus apus (Linnaeus, 1758) (30,7 %) and Delichon urbica (Linnaeus, 1758) (10,9 %). Research represents the first comprehensive overview about urban bird communities in this region.
