摘要:In this article author analyzes specificity of contemporary academic migration and its relevance for the sending and receiving countries. Also author discusses the so-called “brain drain” phenomenon and its possible negative and positive influences for the both involving sides of the ‘brain-exchange’ and for the global processes at large. The practical part of this research is based on the interviews with the Russian academicians having completed their studies in Germany. In their interviews, the participants share their learning and work experience. In the final part author 1) concludes that collaboration among foreign higher education institutions is mutually beneficial in a long run, and 2) lists competitive advantages of the Russian education system in the international market.
