摘要：Formant frequencies are an important parameter inspeech processing and analysis systems. Hence accurateestimation of formants is necessary. This paper, presents acomparison of two formant extraction techniques namelycepstral based and Linear Prediction Cepstral Coefficient(LPCC) based formant estimation. These two methods have beenimplemented in MATLAB for estimation of lowest threeformants which is compared with the values of formants obtainedfrom PRAAT software. These results have been tabulatedobserved that, in general, the LPCC technique is more accuratethan Cepstral analysis technique.
