摘要：The Ethernet MAC address is known it is not changed and so highly considered as one of theplatform-unique information. Because of the reason, the MAC address has been used as a platformidentifier for several public services. This paper surveys, implements and analyzes the extractionmethods for the MAC address in different levels on the PC platform. The methods considered includereading the registry database, calling the dedicated API functions, polling the I/O controllerand communicating with external EEPROM. The result of the implementation will be helpful as areference for developers who need to have a simple platform identifier
