摘要：Este trabajo aborda la postura reacia de la Corona y de la Compañía de Jesús ante las demandas de la ciudad de La Habana de obtener las licencias para fundar un colegio jesuita en el siglo XVII, mientras que, por el contrario, el episcopado de Cuba la consideraba necesaria para promover la evangelización en la región, así como para fortalecer la labor doctrinal, especialmente entre los esclavos africanos.
其他摘要：This paper deals whith the reluctant atitude of the Crown and the Society of Jesus in view of the requests made by the city of La Havana in order to obtain the due licences for the foundation of a Jesuit college in the XVII century, meanwhile, the Bishops of Cuba considered this foundation rather important to spread the evangelization in the region as well as to strengthen the doctrinal action, especially among the african-slaved population.
