标题：Qualitative analysis of the impact of education on the secondary school (gymnasia) leavers’ professional and civilian formation in the Russian empire in the XIX –early XX centuries: a territorial and temporal aspect
摘要：The article deals with the non-private classical secondary education in the Russian empire (autonomous domains excluded). About 2200 profiles on the Russian version of the Open Encyclopedia are analysed. They were divided according to the spheres: philology and literature, arts and social sciences, sciences and technology, fine arts, public service, military service, revolution, clergy, commerce, medicine, as well as regions: St. Petersburg and its province, Moscow and its province, other Russian provinces, the Ukraine, etc. The author shows that there is no direct correspondence between the type of secondary education and its influence on the school-leavers’ choice of profession or career, although the region and the period could have their effect. The policy of the ministry was on the whole less significant, than the political and social situation in the country, the educational process in a particular school and personal preferences of school-leavers.
