摘要:This article reports a case of primary herpetic gingivostomatitis and a brief review of drugs used to treat infection with herpes simplex virus (HSV). We present a patient with multiple confluent ulcers in both the ventral and the dorsal tongue and lips, compatible with primary herpetic gingivostomatitis. This way of presenting ulceration and patient age are common in HIV positive patients (human immunodeficiency virus), this could not be found in the case because the patient stopped coming to see after the treatment. Acyclovir treatment was introduced 200 mg tablets orally every 6 hours for 10 days. It is noteworthy that the treatments for herpes simplex virus with acyclovir are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but if accepted by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) was also used gel of polyvinylpyrrolidone, sodium hyaluronate to facilitate swallowing of the patient. Keywords: virus, herpes, herpetic, stomatitis, acyclovir. (MesH Database).
