摘要:The purpose of this paper is to analyze the Thomas Hobbes’ thought (1588-1679), having as base text for the analysis, “De Cive” and the “Leviathan”, in order to systematize the idea that, ultimately, Hobbes’ philosophy is the science of peace. One tries to demonstrate this in two moments. At first one can see some arguments that sustain why Hobbes can be considered one of the authors that best focuses the project of the foundation of modern politics. Secondly, one tries to systematize the arguments that lead Hobbes to conceive the passing of the state of nature to the civil status, as necessary. That leads one to considere, therefore, hobbesian philosophy as the science of peace.
