摘要：In this article we investigate the reasons Descartes in the first century of modernity, to insist on securing a place for metaphysics , rehabilitating it on the inside of his theory of knowledge and giving it thus science status. Therefore , we will seek to establish a link between the development of science in the century. XVII, metaphysics and the meaning of human existence in the light of Cartesian philosophy.
