摘要:This chapter is an attempt at revealing a convergence between Japanese butō dance master Ohno Yoshito, his ritual transmission of this art and the dancers who visit his studio. Accompanying dancers on a transformative path, the intention of Ohno Yoshito’s butō consists in the realisation of the non-duality of emptiness. Great significance lies in an introspection into suffering and its association with grief and empathy. Based on his butō transmission and reflections of the dancers, I try to convey in principle why these dimensions form a salutary grieving process that can lead toward non-dualistic wisdom. Keywords: Dance, butō, suffering, grief, empathy, wisdom, emptiness.
