摘要：Suicide as a concept, as well as its reasons and means of prevention have been studied in the article. Based on the analysis of literary resources and researches there have been worked out the ten basic reasons of committing suicide. There has been proposed the list of domestic and foreign fiction literature works as a means of suicide prevention. There has been created a list of literary works connected the basic reasons of committing suicide. Also, there has been studied the concept of «Werther effect» as a possible side effect of reading certain literary works or getting acquainted with curriculum vitae of writers, who have committed suicide (as well as any famous people in general).
