摘要：This article is devoted to the town administration in the boundary territory of the Middle Volga region in Troubled Times of Russia.According to the author there were two big centers – Kazan and Nizhniy Novgorod, others were founded as fortresses in the second half of the XVI century: Arzamas, Alatyr, Kurmysh, Svijazhsk, Temnikov, Unzha.The reconstruction of government and minor officials’ biographies helped to make a personnel list of municipal departments (voevodskie and prikaznye izby) and study the sphere of their activity.
