摘要：The authors present the case of a 17- year-old boy who suffered a cervical spinal injury as a result of t he sharp bending o f the head after slipping (witho ut falling). After about 30 minutes, he began to feel t ingling in the limbs and he developed t et raparesis. He went through physical rehabili- t at ion, psycho lo gical rehabilitat ion, occupatio nal t herapy, and periodic cathet erizat ion. Add itionally, we introduced to him a low dose of analo g granulo cyte colony-stimu lat ing factor (G-CSF). G-CSF 5 μg/kg was g iven subcutaneously daily for 5 days per month for 3 months, again aft er 6 mo nths, and again after 10 mo nt hs. The bo y could sit indecent ly and walk with assistance. A significant increase in muscle st rength in this patient with tetraplegia after 10 mo nths of treatment may indicate beneficial effect s o f G-CSF in this disorder
