摘要：Presented in this paper is an assessment of groundwater potential in the Bawku West District of the Upper East region of Ghana. Pumping test data acquired from 74 boreholes have been analysed to dete rmine the sustainability or otherwise of boreholes in the district. Aquifer characteristics including transmissivity and sustainable yield have been assessed using Cooper - Jacobs method. The results of the study indicates minimum and maximum transmissivity values of 0.95 m 2 /d and 195.70 m 2 /d respectively with a mean of 40.39 m 2 /d and a standard deviation of 38.48 m 2 /d. Findings from the study indicate high groundwater sustainability with yields ranging from 0.36 m 3 /h - 103.15 m 3 /h with a mean of 13.36 m 3 /h.
