摘要：Esse artigo apresenta algumas reflexões sobre a influência da“linguagem do riso” na constituição do ETHOS discursivo. Taisconsiderações retomam Aristóteles; todavia, é com os oradores e retoreslatinos que essa ideia será melhor delineada. Daí o conceito de VRBANITAS:característica(s) que contribui(em) para a constituição do ETHOS do orador epara aumentar a captação dos afetos dos ouvintes (auditório) para osucesso da argumentação. Nossa proposta é articular tal conceito dentro doquadro teórico-metodológico da Análise do Discurso, associando-o aospostulados referentes à categoria de ETHOS.

Theseconsiderations take up Aristotle; however, is with the Latin speakers andrhetoric that this concept will be better delineated. So the idea of VRBANTAS:characteristics that contribute for the constitution of the ETHOS of the speakerand to increase the capture of the emotions of the listeners (audience) for asuccessful argument.
