摘要：Este artigo enquadra-se num estudo mundialsobre audiências da trilogia The Hobbitcujos resultados serão analisados em2015-2016. Enquadrando e antecipandoessa análise dos resultados, o artigo introduzuma das questões de pesquisa:se (e como) é a relação dos espetadorescom a adaptação cinematográfica de PeterJackson marcada pela sua leitura anteriordessa obra literária de J.R.R. Tolkien.Apresentando pesquisa anterior relativa àadaptação ao cinema da obra O Senhordos Anéis, do mesmo autor, e a respostadas audiências a essa trilogia, o artigoconfronta a relação da literatura com o cinema,entre a posição tolkieana expressano ensaio On Fairy-Stories (1938-39) eno conto Leaf by Niggel (1947), por umlado, e as novas possibilidades proporcionadaspelas tecnologias cinematográficasdigitais, por outro.
其他摘要：This article is part of the global studyon the audiences of The Hobbit trilogy,whose results will be analyzed in 2015-2016. Framing and preparing the furtheranalysis, the article introduces one of theresearch questions: whether (and how) isthe reception of the movie directed by PeterJackson affected by the previous readingof the J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel. Recallingprevious research on the adaptationof Tolkien’s novel The Lord of the Ringsto the cinema, and its reception ten yearsago, the article discusses the relationbetween literature and cinema, betweenTolkien’s points of view expressed in OnFairy-Stories (1939-39) and in the story Leaf by Niggel (1947), on the one hand, and the new possibilities offered by digital cinema technologies, on the other.
