摘要:A novel chitosan derivative has been synthesized. The structure and morphology of the new material arecharacterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) X-ray diffraction (XRD). Chitosan- khellinoneSchiff's base was prepared, characterized and successfully applied in the removal of Ni (II) and Fe (II) ions fromaqueous real samples. While the metal cations were detected using ICP-OES. The effect of pH (2-9) on the uptakebehavior was studied. The optimum initial pH was 6 and 7 for Fe2+ and Ni2+, respectively. The removal of Ni (II) andFe (II) from real samples of ground water was applied and the removal efficiency reached to nearly 90%.
