摘要:Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a powerful measurement of the complete EquipmentPerformance. In this study, the improvement of OEE in the Piston machining line was carried out through theimplementation of Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) and Design of Experiments (DOE). SMED is one of thelean methodologies which was used for the reduction of setup time and the improvement in the Availability factor ofOEE. It was implemented on the bottleneck machine of the machining line and calculated the setup time before andafter the SMED implementation. The variables affecting the rejections of the piston skirt dia were analyzed andoptimized in the Minitab17 software and increased the Quality factor of OEE. The optimized values From the DOEwere suggested to the industry.
