摘要:In vitro studies indicated that addition of phyto-protein to culture medium of plants was beneficial, forinstance, during acclimatization; the plants raised in phyto-protein containing medium showed better growth andsurvival. Though role of phyto-proteins neither appears to be purely antiviral nor it can be categorized hormonal, thebeneficial effects even in their absence were carried forward in subsequent subculture. Moreover, presence of phytoproteinsbeyond two subcultures was found detrimental to both growth and proliferation of shoots. An experiment wasperformed to observe the beneficial effects of phyto-proteins obtained from roots of B. diffusa and leaves of C.aculeatum on shoot proliferation and growth of excised shoot apices of Citrus aurantifolia, their in vitro rooting andhardening of in vitro-raised plantlets.
