  • 摘要:Friction stir welding is a new solid-state joining process. In the current work friction stir welding iscarried out on aluminium alloy (Al5086) and alloy steel (stainless steel 410). Welding parameters like welding speed(mm/min), tool rotation speed (r.p.m) and offset ( mm) were varied according to the L9 orthogonal array designedusing MINITAB 17 statistical software. The work has been carried out to study the effect of process parameters on thetensile strength of the weldments. This is done by calculating the percentage contribution of each parameter. An effortis made to find the optimal process parameters to Friction stir weld the aluminium alloy (Al5086) and alloy steel(stainless steel 410).
