摘要:Kinetics of palladium(II) catalysed oxidation of arginine has been studied by Ce(IV) in acidic medium at45°C. The reaction show first order kinetics with respect to Ce(IV) and Pd(II) in the oxidation of arginine. The firstorder kinetics with respect to arginine obtained at its lower concentration changes to zero order at its higherconcentration. It is found that pseudo first order rate constant, kobs decreases with increase of [HSO4-] and increaseswith the increase of [H+]. Various activation parameters have been calculated with the pseudo first order rate constantvalues observed at three different temperatures. A plausible mechanism has been proposed from the results of kineticstudies, reaction stoichiometry and product analysis.
