摘要：Medicinal plants are primary source of healing and widely used for the treatment of various ailments. Inthe present study is to determine phytochemical analysis and antioxidant activity of Justicia wynaadensis family(Acanthaceae) by using different solvents such as petroleum ether, chloroform, ethylacetate, acetone, and methanol.The phytochemical analysis of all solvents crude extract showed positive result for alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides,tannins terpenoids and steroids where as reducing sugar, saponins, anthroquinones, glycosides are absent. The In-vitroantioxidant activity of methanol extract from Justicia wynaadensis leaves determining by DPPH, reducing power,metal ion chelation, superoxide anion, nitric oxide, hydrogen peroxide and hydroxyl radical scavenging assay. Thestudy showed that the methanol extract is a essential effect due to antioxidant activity.
