摘要:The major concern in design and deployment of sensor networks is the issue of maximizing networklifetime which is fundamentally rely on the network connectivity which on the other hand directly depends on batterylife of sensor nodes. However, sensor nodes have limited energy supplies and making battery replacement is verydifficult or even impossible. Therefore, energy should be efficiently conserved to extend sensor networks lifetime byhaving an energy-efficient routing protocols. Hierarchical cluster routing protocols can reduce the energy consumptionrequirement; but the major challenge in cluster formation is to select the appropriate cluster heads by taking intoconsideration various parameters such as residual energy, number of neighbours, location (position) of node, anddistance from base station (sink node). Cluster formation is NP-hard problem, and evolutionary based technique isproposed to design an energy-efficient cluster to optimize lifetime of sensor networks, while ensuring energy efficientrouting path construction for sensor nodes. Moreover, the proposed protocol maintain centrality of the cluster heads andlet balanced energy dissipation among clusters. The protocol is implemented using OMNeT++ and the result analysisshows the protocol has good network stability period and the energy depletion of every node is smooth.
