摘要：With the advent of the Internet technology, a lot has been done to explore and reap the benefits of this incredible technology in various fields including e-governance. Electronic filing (e-filing) of taxes, one of the key aspects of e-go vernance has been embraced in many of the developed and developing countries round the globe. A lot has been done in the Indian context as well. This paper aims at providing a synoptic view of the status of e-filing of taxes in India pitted against the work done in some o f the other prominent countries. Statistical data and some of the major studies conducted show that some of the countries like the UK, USA, Australia and Singapore have done extremely well and have co nstantly been striving for betterment
