摘要:Heavy metals are natural constituents of the earth's crust, but indiscriminate human activities havedrastically altered their geochemical cycles and biochemical balance. This results in accumulation of metals in plantparts having secondary metabolites, which is responsible for a particular pharmacological activity. Prolongedexposure to heavy metals such as cadmium, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc can cause deleterious health effects inhumans. In the present work, polymeric resin has been synthesized and characterized using analytical techniques.The synthesized resin has been used for the development of films. The impact of metals (presence or absence) onbiodegradation of films has been studied. Polymer that is treated with Cr metal and fungus, biodegradation rate arehigher 2-5% than without metal. In case of Zn metal negligible effect is shown.
